Day 6 Putting our best face on and declaring Christmas

(viewed 1705 times)
This once rather grand arcade, (for a market town like Otley) comes as a surprise, as you leave the high street of a medley of mixed fortunes - butcher's. bakers, pubs, banks, charity shops, cheap stores etc. It will have seen finer shops than the DIY and the second hand shops that you enter to, but inside we have collectables such as books, old toys and jewellery and there is an horologist with a very interesting window of old clocks and a bead jewellery maker with attractive, colourful small bead jewellery at give away prices.
They have declared Christmas with their fancy bold decorations strewn across the arcade.

Whether we can't wait or whether this is a bitter sweet time let us all put on a bright face on and give it our best and declare Christmas.

To all my moblog friends - hope Christmas is a time of love, family and friendship for you. x

Reflecting on Christmases past and Christmases to come. Some things change and some stay the same. What will this year bring I wonder?

Wishing you all a happy festive season. God Jul from Sweden!

Day 1 Dancing

(viewed 1444 times)
Another year, another Moblog Advent Calendar. I heard the Godfrey Rush poem *Come, Immanuel* last Christmas and I liked the gritty contemporary style of it. So I googled him and found this. And the photo; I liked the idea of an undressed fir tree... Dear Mobloggers enjoy the run up to Christmas x

The universe from which Love sprang
started with a Tiny Bang
when Love, to everyone's surprise,
came dancing out of paradise,
dancing into night and day,
dancing into DNA,
dancing past security,
dancing where no-one can see,
dancing to a different drum,
dancing into kingdom come,
dancing with a virgin stranger,
dancing in the dirty manger,
dancing ever undefiled,
dancing as a little child.

Advent Ariel Acrobatics!

Its Christmas Day! Happy Christmas All X

Everyone has said and a lot of people here have commented on how different christmas is feeling this year. I'm not sure whether they mean better or more stressful. Its been a very mixed bag here at 540 headquarters, but this morning when the kids opened their presents all seemed well in their world. I sincerely wish it could be this way for everyone.

I am always mindful of those who will not be enjoying the season as we are...... together with the people we care about and they are in my thoughts now.

I wish you all Peace, joy, health, happiness and prosperity in all you do in the coming year. XX
