Merry Kissmass!

(viewed 3145 times)
Well, if you felt like have been kissed
here, all is ok, cos you are just under my mistletoe and hope you don't mind that I'm gonna take the special opportunity. ;)

"Sitting under the mistletoe,
One last candle burning low,
Shadows lurking everywhere:

No footsteps came, no voice, but only,
Just as I sat there, sleepy, lonely,
Stooped in the still and shadowy air
Lips unseen - and kissed me there. "

(Mistletoe a Christmas poem by Walter de la Mare)

So "kiss me under the mistletoe,
hold me tight, and don't let go"!
Because, it's always good to be here with you.
*Merry Kissmass,
dear friends! : ) xxx*

Day 11: Safe travels

(viewed 846 times)
Christmas usually means spending time with family, and quite often have lunch with one family mob, and tea with the other family mob.

So to all those that are travelling this Christmas, safe travels and merry christmas.

Bring a tree home, eat a lot and don't take things seriously

(viewed 1115 times)
It's cold here, but there is no snow. But it's time to buy a Christmas tree, so I go to the same guy every year, as I have for a very long time. Christmas trees are a big industry here--millions of trees are sold every year, with many ending up in the United States, and much further away--Puerto Rico, for instance. Many Canadians take their trees down to the US and stay there for about a month to sell them. If you sell Christmas trees, you can't leave the lot, so you live out of your van or trailer for the whole time. Someone has made a movie about the experience. The province of Nova Scotia sends a huge tree to Boston every year to thank them for the help they gave in 1917 after the Halifax explosion.

We have always been flung around the globe, far from each other, but we found a community that meant something. Wishing all of us the same sense of friendship, community and of belonging--and lots of great food, music, film, books, and especially--foolishness.

Day 6 Putting our best face on and declaring Christmas

(viewed 1751 times)
This once rather grand arcade, (for a market town like Otley) comes as a surprise, as you leave the high street of a medley of mixed fortunes - butcher's. bakers, pubs, banks, charity shops, cheap stores etc. It will have seen finer shops than the DIY and the second hand shops that you enter to, but inside we have collectables such as books, old toys and jewellery and there is an horologist with a very interesting window of old clocks and a bead jewellery maker with attractive, colourful small bead jewellery at give away prices.
They have declared Christmas with their fancy bold decorations strewn across the arcade.

Whether we can't wait or whether this is a bitter sweet time let us all put on a bright face on and give it our best and declare Christmas.

To all my moblog friends - hope Christmas is a time of love, family and friendship for you. x
