"When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,
A working class hero is something to be."
By John Lennon.

OSCAR WILDE

"As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice."
ADOLF HITLER

Somebody was trying to tell me that CDs are better than vinyl because they don't have any surface noise. I said, "Listen, mate, *life* has surface noise."

For some reason she's doing an impression of Anne Widercombe on the top picture.

"Thalice" (malice) is the lighter of the two, the other "Rhian" is her grandaughter and a bit of a pest.
She spent most of the afternoon with her nose in other peoples picnic bags before trying to run off with a fishing rod complete with stand.

Wine and Water [3]

(viewed 506 times)

Got to the White water centre in Bala in the back of a friends car ( thanks Cath) queasy but nevertheless didn't yoke up anywhere on route. A short while later with the addition of a wet suit, buoyancy aid and helmet I was ready to go, and of course I got chucked in the front and was the pace setter.

Water and Wine

Water and wine, particularly white water and wine really don't mix. If I was going to offer anybody advice on white water rafting I would say don't get pissed out of your trolley at a Denbigh night club ( think they used to be called disco's years ago), not even, as in my case, the fact it was my birthday or the fact it was Denbigh's top hot spot the infamous Deja Vu club should have been a good enough reason to go as it was a 9.00am start the following day and I was going to need all the energy I could muster.

Tate till Late

Today went down to do some work on my boat but as the sun came out I went off for a walk to the Albert Dock.

Liverpool " City of Litter " is now Liverpool " City of Cranes". Every time I go there something else has been knocked down and built in its place. As I was walking along the promenade the first thing I noticed was the new arena
is almost near completion. They built a state of the art, architecturally stunning building and then put a shit awful concrete multi-storey car park in front of it so nobody can see it. To get the best view you need to be sailing past in an oil tanker.
Anyway ended up in the Tate Gallery and thought I'd try the scoff. Grilled flat bread with garlic aioli, Marinated olives, Roasted nuts with rock salt & rosemary, Black olive & sun-dried tomato, tapenade with grilled flat bread,Humous with grilled flat bread. Bit too avant garde for me.No
" Shambo Burgers in sight ". I quite like modern art and I'd quite happily have a Salvadore Dali on every wall. Infact my favourite painting is Munch's " The Scream " and his "Madonna" is pretty cool. But the thing is some of the stuff looks like it's been done by a one year
old with a crayon. On bloke was staring at something for twenty minutes that turned out to be a crack in the wall. I sat down in a chair only to be bollocked because it was an exhibit. ( probably something by Yoko Ono called
" Me and John, the final years".
The Peter Blake exhibition on Pop Art is well worth a visit and is on till October.
