Pearls! (from Rick, of course). The second shot, more of a not-a-surprise-at-all. We're in the midst of a blizzard. Snow is halfway up the front door, can't get out that way at all. Over 18 inches of snow in 2 days so far (and still counting). Drifts up to 5 feet have formed all over. We did want to get into town tomorrow, but it looks like we'll be stuck for a while.
In other not-really-news, the power has been on and off; mostly off. It's still snowing. Wind is around 30, 35 mph. We're warm and have food and booze. :D Rick is now officially unemployed, retired from Melroe. The plant closed on Wednesday. He's very happy he's not expected to travel in this weather. Sprocket, thank you so much for the card, it is lovely.

My own little swarf universe. While I'm enjoying doing this, it's a bit sad too. Rick's job comes to an end on the 23rd, and with it also comes the end of swarf. Damn.
I was watching the woodpeckers fighting, and clicked just as this female downy headed straight for me.
