Personal Favourites from my moblog

"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience

Skating away, skating away, skating away On the thin ice of the new day"

Tiny Doors

(viewed 820 times)
The front screen door, reflected multiple times.

Harry

This is Harry, one of our Hairy Woodpeckers (Picoides villosus). It's seldom I get the opportunity to shoot him up close, as they are very wary and unlike their smaller counterparts (Picoides pubescens), they intensely dislike the shutter noise. I had the window open, and was astonished he stayed long enough for me to get some nice shots of him.

Tuesday Afternoon

Close

(viewed 853 times)
I can now put seed out directly from my front windows. This was about an hour ago, the seed is now covered by snow.

Oh FFS

(viewed 1080 times)
We've had another 20 inches (50.8cms) of snow and it's still coming down. The interstates are shut down, our vehicles are completely buried (except for our truck, and it's getting there) and we are most snowed in. The weight of this latest snow has collapsed the cat kennel roof. I went out the back door to get a look and pulled my yarrow up out of the snow, hence the pic. I don't have the heart to post more pics of vast piles of snow and the resultant damage.
