Stump with hole...

(viewed 1417 times)
...My young friend said it looks a bit like a wooden toilet.

I make this my 300th post although the profile says 301. Either way a celebration is in order if only to try and beat the cold in our corner of the country... I am very tempted to celebrate by going back to bed. It will be warm, my young friend hasn't got up yet.

First Daffs of 2009?

(viewed 1658 times)
The snow was already melting fast by the time I managed to slip outside with my phone. In a very sheltered spot in the Craft HQ grounds I found these daffodils. I'm very shocked because they managed to get into full flower without me noticing and because they're so early. Also, it's been such a cold winter, probably the coldest I can remember.

Frosty Horns

(viewed 1563 times)
We saw this frost on a stag's horn tree yesterday when the frost mostly hung about all day.

My young friend and I wish you a happy new year filled with beautiful sights.

Going out now, see you next year!

Christmas Cranberries

Cranberries are just like my young friend.
Shiny and good to look at.
Taste sooooo fine.
But really just a little tart....

Merry Christmas from me and my young friend. See you under the mistletoe! xxx

Winter Jasmine

The flower is actually yellow, rather like forsythia.

Hard Frost

The shrubs in the car park the other morning looked like they were getting decorated for Christmas.

I spotted this plant in a garden in October. It looked absurdly Christmassy.
