Christmas was great, it was really fun.
I felt so much like part of the family here, and had lots of fun.
Now its nearly New Year (yeah.. I've not posted in a while.. sorry),
and I hope it will be as good. I can't see how it won't be.
Happy New Year everyone!

Crazy ranting old man on the streets of SF.
Aparently he's a regular feature there, and will start shouting at couples to stop their fornicating when the mood strikes him.
America: Breeding a better brand of crazy since 1776.

Anatomically "correct" Robo-Santa, near the top of the hill, Lyon Street, San Fran.
It will eat your children.

George Lucas lives around here, has done for most of his life, can you guess the inspiration for his Imperial Walkers for Empire?
These are large cargo cranes, they look like strange mechanic horses... and do look like they could stride across the landscape and destroy all before them.
There's inspiration for the TIE Fighters in the bay too.
Cool no?

The Holocaust Memorial at Land's End, San Francisco.
From here you can see some of the most beautiful views of the bay.
As this memorial watched over it, three asian couples got married.
The world moves on.. but lest we forget...

Dim Sum!
My first Dim Sum experience. While you can get it in the UK, its not really very common, even in London, so we went to one that Miriam's Dad recomended. Its just up the hill from the ocean, Pacific that is. My first glimpse of the Pacific...
I have a rule - if a [insert culture] food place is frequented by [culture] people.. then its probably good, especially if the menu's are all written in their language. This place was no exception, FULL of chinese people.
I let everyone else order for me, not knowing what was what, and there was some really yum stuff. Also I got to try some interesting dishes - pigs feet (nice, but dull... tastes very orangey, can do without), ducks tongues (ok, wierd texture), and Chicken Feet (nice, but full of bones, pretty yum tho). Jellyfish was also nice.
However the shrimp dumplings, mushrooms, shumai (pork and shrimp), pork spare-ribs, and some cool spiced chicken were all REALLY yum! I recomend this place (KW II near 36th if that means much to anyone). It was also reeeeally cheap. We managed to fill four people and stil have lots of leftovers for 60 dollars! Thats like less than 10 pounds a head!
Anyhow, enjoy the food.
