"As you know Mexico has now declared an swine flu epidemic and today the World Health Organization declared the epidemic as a public health emergency.
The streets in Mexico are empty, nobody wants to go outside and everybody is scared
Mexican government says there are just 20 deaths confirmed because of the swine flu but all of us know that there are a lot more.
I'm writing about it in my blog (Vivir Mexico ) but I don't want to scare more of the people who read us daily although they are already scared.
I hope the epidemic can be eradicated soon and it doesn't cause more deaths but principally I hope the epidemic won't go further and cause more damage to other countries.
I wanted to go to the hospitals to take some pictures but my family didn't let me, I guess is better but I have blogger blood in my veins jajaja.
I'd love to send you some kisses from Mexico but I don't want to spread the virus."
...
The thing that really brings it home to me is that people are advised not to greet each other by kissing or touching hands. Such greetings are part of the culture, but if that wasn't enough people have been advised not to exercise outdoors or in places where there are lots of others, to make sure children don't play outside and avoid big gatherings. This is really scary stuff.
