"I tried once to open too many doors at a time, it was unproductive and confusing.
I just learned the last lesson, Dad. I'm supposed to open just one at a time, and only when I reach them along the path, this 'hike' we are taking. That's when the key fits, and opens the lock perfectly, every time. Thank you, Dad. I love you, and miss you. I am blessed with an amazing husband now, he holds my hand as we walk along paths too. We are climbing a little steeper now, with more effort, and thinner air. But I'm not worried. I am looking up. I am living in the moment, being now. Because when we get to the next door, along our path, I know, Dad, . . . that key is going to fit, perfectly!"

The Carb Police Vs Poppy

(viewed 409 times)
Popcorn was the last hold out on our effort at the trailer to be carb free. We loaded up the laundry basket, the day after Thanksgiving, with Bisquick, breakfast cereals, Oatmeal, rice, and crackers and Mr. Follmannn brought it over to the 'big house'. I couldn't part with the spaghetti, being a Pastafarian. And Mr. Follmann, couldn't give up the popcorn. Well in a Domestic Goddess kitchen cleaning frenzy, I snapped. Neighbor Luke was out, and before anyone could say Jiffy Pop, the air popper was in my hand along with a brand new container of Orville Redenboacker's finest. I smiled and sold the idea of air popped popcorn, salt free of course, to Neighbor Luke like the hubcaps off a new car in a back alley. Soon I was on my way back to the trailer door, popcorn maker and popcorn free. I finished the spaghetti. I know, rude of me, but I felt it a religious experience. From now on, spaghetti squash! Mr. Follmann grieved the popcorn loss and made himself some butter beans. Now the discussion is about the rice maker. I say we don't need it! We don't have rice to cook. Mr. Follmann is wondering about company for dinner & by some meteorite hitting us head on while we sleep next to nothing chance they will insist on eating rice, . . . that we keep it. The 'big house' already has their own rice maker, though we borrowed their dehydrator, and I don't want Neighbor Luke to feel dumped on, so it's still here. Maybe I can use it to steam veges with their fancy shmansy steamer tray. (shmansy's a word!) "All the world's a stage" Bill said. And if Google Earth zoomed in right then, the driveway at the Compound was too.

Coffee with my Marimo

(viewed 404 times)
Well, I just got an early Holiday gift via a phone call. Osteoporosis. Add it to the list. So the New Year's resolution of walking and weight lifting is no longer a vague impression of a goal, it is a necessity. Marimo seems supportive. How can you not be, when you are a Good Luck Japanese Moss Ball?
It will be a good year, with healthy goals, and focused mind. My body won't know what to do with all that 'healthy'!
