"I tried once to open too many doors at a time, it was unproductive and confusing.
I just learned the last lesson, Dad. I'm supposed to open just one at a time, and only when I reach them along the path, this 'hike' we are taking. That's when the key fits, and opens the lock perfectly, every time. Thank you, Dad. I love you, and miss you. I am blessed with an amazing husband now, he holds my hand as we walk along paths too. We are climbing a little steeper now, with more effort, and thinner air. But I'm not worried. I am looking up. I am living in the moment, being now. Because when we get to the next door, along our path, I know, Dad, . . . that key is going to fit, perfectly!"

hearts and flowers

(viewed 775 times)
“I read somewhere once that souls were like flowers,' said Priscilla.
'Then your soul is a golden narcissus,' said Anne, 'and Diana's is like a red, red rose. Jane's is an apple blossom, pink and wholesome and sweet.'
'And our own is a white violet, with purple streaks in its heart,' finished Priscilla.”
~ L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea

Peace and condolences to the families of Moore, Okla and other storm struck heartlands of America.

Our hearts and thoughts are with you in your time of loss and embracing courage.

Mr. Ken captured these hairtrigger subjects with stunning results!

A brash Blue Jay & rambunctious Red-bellied Woodpecker enjoyed breakfast from his Conch bird feeder.
This is no easy task~these feathers are in and out like Ocean Eleven!

I love this feeder by the kitchen sink! Washing dishes can 'take my cares away'.

Starved, sigh for Stephen~Sondheim, that is. Just can't get enough! Sweeney-Todd & Into the Woods have brought me to Evening Primrose~a poets dream.

The Picnic is not as exotic as a department store, but it offers the solace a writer needs.

But as the tale unfolds, love is worth more than poetry~ {damn these distractions!}

I share with you a 'Picnic' Storefront View.

(The little Stone Duck, right of the black frog 'mannequin', was found at Peace River. She, as with everything else, comes with a story. This one is from Ben Loory, and he read it perfectly for the Valentine's Day episode of This American Life.)

Fossil Club of Lee County Meeting is: In Session!

My first~ seems charming! I can really 'dig' this!

Husband and I enjoyed an educational history of sharks, compliments of Dr. Charles O'Connor. His full range of topic was:

THE NATURAL HISTORY OF SHARKS, HUMAN AND SHARK INTERACTIONS, AND FOSSILIZED TEETH

We 'ogled' beautiful Shark tooth specimens from around the world, all of great value.

The jaw pictured is from a Shark Ray. A link to its replica and what they look like with skin is listed below.

We look forward to future meetings, if work schedules permit. Some of Rockman's finds were identified as a Dire Wolf phalange (toe bone), a camel tooth, a mammal rib bone, and a Giant Armadillo Scale!

{the Saber tooth tiger fang ~ was the tip of a deer antler - oops!}

I'm on the hunt I'm after you!

Isabelle is 'hungry like the wolf' in her hunt for reptiles!

Husband says that she must have seen "the Mother of all lizards" under this table, for this is where she runs, to stay underneath for hours!

Nothing better when she's 'in touch with the ground' than Lizard TV! Turn your head, change the channel, live coverage.

(The lizard aboard the turtle statue is a Brown Anole. Here is a link to all the varieties Izzie may be chasing today! Good news, I hear if you see lizards, there are no snakes nearby!)

If I Had A Hammer . . .

Rockman faced nothing short of cliff walls today. Texted him to see how he was doing at Brooksville Limestone Quarry, & he said he needed a"hammer and a pick ax"!

Had to giggle, because I thought of this song! But he did it again, and came home with beautiful natural formed crystals in limestone, and a shell casting!

He also has Sea Biscuits that are 40 million years old! No one . . . can break ~ The Rockman!

Turtle~He's not a tortoise!

Beauregard is 'chillaxin' in his pond! The Herpetarium is complete with the Man Cave (upper left), Salad Bar (right of Man Cave) Water/Bathing dishes, Earthworm Compost Snack Bar (below Salad Bar), Pond {with bridge}, and soon to be installed: Turtle Fountain! He has fresh Kale shrubs, and a garden of lettuce and spinach planted to border his home! (The fenced lid makes his home raccoon and cat proof!)

Rockman is on the prowl to save another Box Turtle from highway dooms to join Bo! This is one spoiled Turtle!

Great job on the Herpetarium, Husband!

Rockman is enjoying a fossil free-for-all today at the Vulcan Limestone Mine in Brookville, FL!

The Fossill Forum
http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/36868-vulcan-mine-brooksville-egg-on-my-face/

Fossils and shells are already unearthed and just waiting to be picked!

He dove the Caloosahatchee River in Fort Myers yesterday to swipe an amazing Tiger tooth and fossilized barnacles, shells, and a clam! Some word among the 'Fossil Boyz' about checking out a canal! Yikes!
Be safe with the gators guys!
