After many years of dogged work and severe testing of patience the new Audio Visual & Performing Arts Centre at the Highfields Centre Leicester is in the process of opening.

On Friday 13th March, Khayaal Theatre the country's only Muslim theatre company came to the Highfields Centre to perform their play 'Hearts & minds' which looks at a young Pakistani's man trying to find his way through life. Over 100 people came to watch and it was an interesting play. More details here:

Every year in August the centre organises a Celebration of Diversity & Unity in the Community event which celebrates young people's achievements and also tries to bring our communities together

Our first Summer Arts programme in the building has been a success. A big thank you to Erika, Joel, Andy, Jaydev and Piers for running the activities over the four weeks. Special thanks to the Active Youth crew Puja and Jem and co.
