"At least it livened up an otherwise mundane day."*
*Not me, because Baby Jamie had already brightened up our day.
And didn't my k750i do well?
After Heddon, we went back home, via Jen and John in Birmingham to
see how they were getting on with married life. I think they were
mostly concerned about the start of the new school term. It was very
good to see them again. Steve came away most hungover. I should visit
Birmingham more or they should make it down to London. Or over to
Leeds. Or something.
The Heddon Valley was lovely. But, it was there where I was stung by
a bee. For the first time. Ever. Serves me right for boasting earlier
in the day how I'd never been stung by a wasp or a bee. It wasn't
that big a deal. It felt like a thorn had gone into my thigh and it
was quite a surprise. After the initial alarm, though, the pain went
down quite quickly and I didn't go into anaphylactic shock. It was a
bit itchy a day later -- no where near as bad as those big swollen
midge bites you can get. I don't know what all the fuss is about. I'm
even less scared of bees now. Unless they're killer bees. Or dirty
bees carrying infection.
