cleaning out the memory card...

(viewed 701 times)
I'm home safely now -- just posting a few last pictures.

This is an advertisement for gambling of some kind that we found in an arcade in Osaka.

The fellow on the right is upset because it will lead to improper things happening. I think.

back to Harborland

(viewed 698 times)
We went back on my last night there, so I took some pictures of the pretty lights and of the little shopping village nearby.

Don't let the palm trees fool you: it was in the 40s and I think the pictures are so blurry because I was shivering constantly. Stupid weather.

underground shops in Sannomiya

(viewed 709 times)
Japan's so pressed for space that there are shops underneath the train tracks.

These tiny stores are stuck in dim, narrow passages; and yet some of them seem to be fairly respectable businesses.

GOTH BAR! GOTH BAR! GOTH BAR!

(viewed 893 times)
Sorry the pictures are so lousy, it was (of course) really dark inside.

1)An altar! The lights on it changed color illuminating the Virgin Mary in either Techno Green or Glow-Stick Yellow.

2) The menu. The back informs you that all the pieces in the bar are from Europe, even the high-backed leather chairs, altar, and statues of Jesus.

3) Example.

Osaka Aquarium IV: Miscellaneous

(viewed 985 times)
1) Sardines and anchovies.

2) Amazingly cool manta ray that was doing swimming in loops in this column of bubbles from a scuba diver (cleaning the tank).

3) Jellyfish!

Osaka Aquarium III: Dolphins. Almost.

(viewed 695 times)
The closest I came to getting a photo of an actual dolphin.

Fuck you, dolphin.
