My not quite Mother in law told us to bring cranberry sauce for our contribution for thanksgiving dinner, which I think she meant from a can.
*G* Right. Like I'm going to bring something out of a can to Thanksgiving dinner with the new family...
Got to love my gay male patron. He creates the best recipes...
NotRichard's NotCanned Cranberry Sauce.
Makes A LOT. (about 5 cups)
2 bags fresh cranberries
3 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup, plus 1/4 cup cognac or brandy.
Juice and zest of 2 tangerines.
1/2 tsp fresh ground ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground white pepper
1 granny smith or fuji apple, julienned or small diced
Combine water, juice, zest, cranberries, and 1 cup of the sugar.Bring to a boil, and add spices.Add remaining sugar and stir until dissolved. Add 1 cup brandy .Bring to a slow boil, and cook until cranberries begin to pop and mixture thickens. Simmer for about 20 minutes, or until about 1/4 of the cranberries remain relatively intact. Remove from heat, and stir in apple pieces.Cool to desired temperature, or refrigerate. Before serving, stir in remaining brandy.--

She's her Daddy's kitty. No mistake about that...
Silk shoes I found to match the bridesmaid gown top for Toosha's wedding -First
pair I found that matched, but had to go to another store to get the right
size. These are the BEST shoes. Heck, as long as I don't destroy them, I
might wear them for my own wedding...Did I mention that they were also on sale????
Work had me in Boston's Back Bay today, so I took a few pictures of Copley Square, including Trinity Church, which is just next to the John Hancock tower. The contrast never ceases to make me appreciate each style of architecture a little more.
On Saturday, I completely undid all the previous work, because I found the
gauge (P hook) far too loose for a baby blanket, despite it being the
correct size/yarn weight ratio mentioned in the instructions. I think it
looks much better after using the smaller K hook.Second picture is the Biggest Yarnball Evar. Yes, that's my cell phone next
to it, just so you get an idea of how frigging huge it is -it started out as
a pound of worsted weight, and has had over a skein's worth removed
already.
Yay for big blue squishy yarnballs!!
