Belated Secret Santa

(viewed 1847 times)
I got my belated 'secret santa' from work yesterday, due to travelling I had missed out on the Christmas night out. The theme had been 'superheroes' - and I got this ace bottle of sake with a personalised label - me, as Astro Girl! Thanks Ian - a bit of thought had gone into this one, and I was so chuffed with the result! Trust Graphic Designers to make their own labels. :)

oh - one more thing!

We ate and drank our way round some very fine establishments. Gastown being our favourite obvious area, and 'Sitar' being a particularly good Indian Restaurant on New Year's Day, but enjoyed Le Pichet in Seattle, and obviously had a green tea(!) in 'Seattle's Best Coffee'. The Mosaic grille was great too, the Cinema pub in downtown Vancouver and 'Hamburger Mary's' on Davie Street in the west end was superb. And that is now definitely The End of our little North America trip. :)

Christmas/New Year trip part V - the end!

- After a few too many whiskys/Guinness in the 'Irish Heather' pub on Hogmanay,we cleared our heads on New Years Day with a visit to English Bay to see the 'Polar Bear Dip' - basically people jumping into the freezing bay dressed up in a variety of costumes - the polar bear ones being my favourite. Was great fun, and we then went on a walk around Stanley Park again, past Lost Lagoon and saw squirrels, a racoon (he was too quick for me) and some Canadian geese. Then back to Gastown for a lovely curry after working up a fair old appetite. Great ending to a brilliant day and trip.

Christmas/New Year trip part IV - nearly finished!

We headed over the border to Seattle, went up the space needle, visited the Art gallery and pike place market and saw part of the Cascades mountain range on the train. Lovely weather but very cold while we were there. The we returned to Vancouver - avalanche warnings on Grouse Mountain(!) so we went to Hamburger Mary's Diner for some great food and visited the aquarium in Stanley Park.

Christmas/New Year trip part III

....then the sun came out! Hurray. We went to Gastown and saw the steam clock, had a lovely 'rudolph' cupcake from a shop just off Robson, and went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Very bouncy indeed, the views were impressive though. :)

Christmas/New Year trip part II

.... then we went for a walk! Went to see the totem poles, saw Grouse Mountain, walked round the bay - and was also chuffed to see they had named a street after me...!!

Christmas/New Year trip part I

Thankfully we got a break from the snow and jetted off to Heathrow first (stayed in the yotel, capsule hotel at the airport), then headed to Vancouver. View from our hotel was great. They had a 'gingerbread Christmas display' in the lobby when we arrived. Our festive breakfast was very tasty on Christmas morning - and they had added some candy canes too from 'Santa'!

Festive printing

Friend and I did yet more screenprinting at Peacock at the weekend - this time Christmas cards etc. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Sneak peek until I put the finishing touches to them...! ;)
