"Quotation"

group profile | members | imagewall | quotation maps

We bloggers like a good quote, don't we?

This group is for your favourite quotations, and i'm not just talking about things you read in Bartlett's. It could be an inspirational excerpt from an ancient text; a memorable line from a movie; advice an old school teacher gave that stuck with you. It can even be something you overheard at the bus stop this morning.

Add a poignant photo to accompany your quote.

If you tag the posts, perhaps we can build up a searchable bank of our own favourite words, phrases, quotations...

You get the picture. Join the group and get quoting. You can quote me on that.

From Autumn Journal

(viewed 1830 times)
September has come, it is hers
Whose vitality leaps in the autumn,
Whose nature prefers
Trees without leaves and a fire in the fire-place;
So I give her this month and the next
Though the whole of my year should be hers
who has rendered already
So many of its days intolerable or perplexed
But so many more so happy;
Who has left a scent on my life and left my walls
Dancing over and over with her shadow,
Whose hair is twined in all my waterfalls
And all of London littered with remembered
kisses.

From Autumn Journal by Louis Nacneice

This is a re post. I posted this pic with these words on the Twiglet
zone last September. This year there is added poignancy for me in the
last line. I miss London's streets and especially the parks as the
season changes to Autumn.

Wheel of time...

(viewed 2217 times)
"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that
become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten
when the Age that gave it birth comes again."

Robert Jordan
(James Oliver Rigney Jnr)

We were walking in the country side when we happened upon this working
water wheel in a remote spot.

"From troubles of the world I turn to ducks,
Beautiful comical things"

From Ducks by F W Harvey

A favourite poem of mother's, worth reading the whole thing.
