Hi! I'm a 24 year old living in Reading. I want to be a speech Therpaist and start my training in September. Untill then I am temping at the Pru. How fabulous! My pictures will rarely be anything of artistic merit, more a day to day record of me. Enjoy!

Went to London on Christmas eve eve with Phill. We fed squirrels in the park and then went to the Natural History Museum. after lunch we thought Oxford Street would be a good idea. Eek! Actually wasn't that bad considering and we got everything we went for.

Didn't get into Reading. V sad. 2nd choice is UCL, interview in January!

Have to say, I've been to so many interviews this year for jobs and uni I've lost count and I haven't got a single one of them. Is this God (or whoever's) way of making up for everything going right up till now?

All the jobs that I want pay way less than I'm on at the moment and to get the same kind of money I need to be qualified in something which I'm not, yet, and it's proving stupidly difficult to become qualified. The only option is to go back on shift work which I am NOT doing!

Christmas Tree Shopping

I've never been to buy a real Christmas tree (that I can remember)... we always had fake ones but Phill has always had real ones so off we went today to Yattendon to buy ourselves a little tree. So much fun! My house smells of Christmas!

Went home last night to see the folks. Mum and I put the Christmas tree up to the beautiful sound of John Denver and the Muppets singing Christmas songs! So much fun. And this year I bought Mum some new lights for her tree that I saw in Ikea... they are shaped like little gnomes... Dad hates gnomes! hee hee!

Interviews... eeks!

Interview at Reading today for their MSc Speech Therapy course. I want want want to do this course! This was the wierdest interview I've ever done. There was about 15 of us there in a group. We all had to introduce ourselves and then take part in a group discussion. That was well hard as there were so many of us with lots to say and you had to be quick or your comment didn't make sense any more! Then lunch and then individual 10 minute (!) interviews. What can you say in 10 minutes? Madness! They have 250 applicants for 12 places and they only interview about 40 so I'm pleased I've got this far but no idea if I was any good. Fingers crossed.

Fw: Hunterian Museum

(viewed 4738 times)
My friend works for the Royal College of Surgeons in London. They have a fabulous free museum called the Hunterian
which is not for those with a weak dispostition, Hunter being a surgeon who like to practice disecting things. The museum is basically a bunch of jars with bits of animal in with quite a lot of human thrown in for good measure! Not as much human as when I went to look round with school 7 (eek!) years ago though...
