Guest Room

(viewed 1318 times)
Bro A and his wife stayed in this room between Christmas and New Year. Their eldest daughter slept in Dazzle_Dust's bed in DD's room and their youngest daughter slept on the zed bed borrowed from Bro J.

My new year resolution is to replace the bedding in the guest room. It is old and horrible and doesn't even come close to matching anything else in the room...

Sunday before Christmas and a little bit of Betjeman..

1. The Beloved Spaceman's first great niece born on 18th December

2. The altar at St James's Piccadilly lit for the carol service

3. My Divine Daughter lights a candle for MAC, missed so much.

And is it true? and is it true?
The most tremendous tale of all,
Seen in a stained-glass window's hue,
A Baby in an ox's stall?
The Maker of the stars and sea
Become a Child on earth for me?

And is it true? For if it is,
No loving fingers tying strings
Around those tissued fripperies,
The sweet and silly Christmas things,
Bath salts and inexpensive scent
And hideous tie so kindly meant.

No love that in a family dwells,
No carolling in frosty air,
Nor all the steeple-shaking bells
Can with this single Truth compare -
That God was Man in Palestine
And lives to-day in Bread and Wine.

Three verses from *Christmas* by John Betjeman and our best wishes to mobloggers everywhere for joy and peace at Christmastime.
