I finally started unpacking The Room Where I Put All The Boxes, and found myself face to random-object faces.

I blame the fact that i also recently bought the Faces calendar.

Country of the Blind

Book Three.

Brookmyre's second book. This one took me a while to get into, for some reason. I don't know why, because the writing was as good as the first book. It may have been the excessively long chapters... i'm not a fan of those. But once i did get into it, gosh, i couldn't put it down. I finished the second half in the last two days alone, i think.

Also, i want to start the Spammy Appreciation Society. I fucking love that guy.

I need to stop buying books.

I already have a bookcase full to read... i'll never finish them all.

I don't know.

Sometimes being at work makes me do odd things with post-its.

Death on the Nile

Book Two.

Only the second Agatha Christie i've read. Quite early on i realised i'd caught the end of this story on tv once, so i knew who'd done it and how. I did successfully guess a couple of the sub-plots, though. And oh my, Poirot makes me laugh out loud far too often.

Quite Ugly One Morning

Posting photos of all the books i read during 2012. Idea totally pilfered from Essitam.

Book One.

Technically i finished this one just before the new year, but i wanted to start with it, because... well, it's bloody brilliant. It's the first book by Christopher Brookmyre, and i plan for every other book i read to be one of his until i finish them all (so only 14 more to go).

I would recommend this book to anyone with a strong stomach and a grasp of Scottish dialect. I can not say enough good things about it. And in fact, the only negative thing i can say about it is that the point of view can get a bit muddled and jump around unclearly sometimes, but i didn't really care; the book's too good for it to have bothered me!

Yes. You should read this.

Play it, Sam

Play it again.

We're still working our way through board games acquired at christmas. We
started this one last night. "Learn to play in 15 minutes" my arse. It took
us over half an hour just to set the thing up!
