Rob Ryan @ Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Rob Ryan creates ridiculously intricate, beautiful handcut
illustrations. His work is well worth going to see - but is pretty
sickly sweet en mass. I particularly like the papercuts that are
mounted just slightly off the background, especially when he's cutting
foliage - looks super.

packaging just as much as the objects though - it's the opposite trick
- making something precious out of something of little value. The two
things work together nicely and seem to be an underpinning theme in my

Paintist's silver

Paintist comissioned some rings off me. It wasn't as plain sailing as
expected because I've never actually made any to fit before and the
rings stretch with the bashing, but all worked out in the end. That
said, Mr P's ring was a pleasure to make, I'd certainly be up for
doing more man rings - they are much less fiddly!
