Finnish Tango at Guildhall Yard

OK, it wasn't sensible and I've been told to expect today and tomorrow to be my worst days (although others say the worst days are around day 10 of each regime) but I did a commission for Dance Today this afternoon.

It was terrifying because my immune system is low. Public transport, groups of people, bird flu, insects (I got bitten on the dodgy arm) and it made me realise that I absolutely shouldn't travel on planes or go to airports.

But it was also incredibly energising. I loved the work (as ever), I loved dancing (even though it probably wasn't sensible), it was great to mix with new people and it was great to catch up with the few tangueros I already new.

The morning after

Afternoon now..

All fine. There's a nasty bruise developing from about 3" from the point of IV entry along about 3" of vein (the part that hurt while the fluids were going in - I was warned about this bruising). It makes typing interesting but isn't insurmountable. I've taken arnica but doubt it'll have a chance as it'll be swamped by all the substances already in my body.

Also, if I allow myself to feel it I'm achingly tired. However, compared to last year when I was really ill (ie from whatever I picked up in Argentina rather than from therapeutic poisons) I was far worse.

I've eaten (my current favourite breakfast is Spanish tortilla) with no effects other than the feeling I get when something's more oily than I like - which it was.

Hope it stays this way

Only 5 sessions left.. I imagine I'll be counting days and hours till recovery soon though.

I feel fine but tired. Tired might be due to the stress of the day, because I got up at 5ish (as more-or-less-usual) or it might be because I decided to do 20 minutes on the exercise bike. I'm now waiting to see what happens next while hoping/praying that what happens is nothing.

Instead of the hour I was advised we were there from 10:20 to 6ish (I was too intent on getting out to take a note). 3.5 hours of the delay were due to the pain I felt every time the poisons were introduced at what other people must consider a reasonable rate.

Apart from the records thing, there was a 'we haven't had your perscriptions signed yet' thing (they only had 15 days so must be massively underresourced), a 'oops we forgot about the cold cap thing' (despite my reminding them in the introductory talk) and a 'the head nurse is getting the tyre on her car fixed' thing... although not in that order

First and Last for 2009

First time my images have been used for regular public entertainment - they will be featured regularly in Negracha (probably the largest tango venue in Europe)

Last time I'll be leaving the hair salon with long hair
