Yes, yes people I have emerged from my self realised obscurity to bestow knowledge on all headz. Used ta be out and about now strictly lying low dispensing wisdom.
Too much going down to stay quiet, now all of us have to rise up and speak truth to power.

There has to be more to us than dhal roti and Nokia phones...

United Families & Friends Campaign Remembrance Procession 2008

There was about 300-400 people on the demo. Many children were there as well -sons and daughters, brothers and sisters of people who have died in Police custody. Habib's daughters were at the front helping to hold the main banner. There's a good report of the day here: http://harpymarx.wordpress.com/2008/10/26/uffc-procession/

United Families & Friends Campaign Remembrance Procession 2008

A small group of us from the Justice for Habib campaign with family members attended the Annual Remembrance Procession against deaths in custody on Saturday 25th Oct from Trafalgar to Downing St.

182 people have died in custody in the last 12 months and overall since 1969 when we had the first recorded death in custody there have been 2,533 individuals who have died in prisons, police cells, psychriatric units & immigration centres. Since 1969 not a SINGLE police officer has been prosecuted successfully.

Different Endz

(viewed 797 times)
Joseph Rowntree did some work with young people to map out their areas/turfs/endz and they came up with some interesting stuff. Been doing work like this with young people recently and does shock you until you remember your own youth/childhood and how your world expanded. We had no go areas back in the day as well. Sad thing is that adults don't seem to take on these perceptions seriously enough.
