(technically, it's part 4, but I didn't shoot the first two prep steps.)
Needs touchups now.
It's Rerun's first birthday today. :)
Hope I'm not boring anyone with these, but hey, at least I'm posting.
A couple of days ago, Ed (that's wombat527 on MBUK)'s cat Saturday needed
emergency eye surgery, or she was going to lose her eye. I offered to make
an egg and put it up for auction to help defray the cost of the vet bills.
This egg hasn't been bleached yet. I just finished carving it, in fact. So
it kind of looks icky and ragged. But once it's out of the bleach it I will
be able to see where it needs touching up.
All the interior touchups are finished, and the exterior has a layer of
protective wax on it.
Natural light, not at 5am with a desk lamp.
It needs interior work but the exterior is complete.
Exterior's done. Interior needs MASSIVE touchups.
First photo is after the first coat of enamel. Second and third photos are
after the third one.
Supplies for 2 steps out have been ordered. Next thing I need to repuncture
any small holes that have been covered by the enamel, go downtown and get
some flat black paint, and touch up the INSIDE of the egg in the spots where
the red has gone through. Yeah that could be tricky but I have to get it
Ok the black egg has 3 coats of a water based sealant on it. Yes I know it's
not a very neat job. It doesn't need to be, since I'll be painting over it
While this is thoroughly drying though, I'm going to be turning my attention
to the white egg. It needs 3 coats of white enamel before it can go to the
