We had a visitor this morning. We have a glass
lean-to/conservatory/greenhouse and this bird - a young thrush, I think got
in and couldn't get out. It was bashing up against the glass and getting
into quite a state. After a little while it calmed down and let me pick it
up so I could take it outside. Apart from being a bit shaken up it seemed
none the worse for its adventure.

There seem to be more crows than seagulls on the beach these days.
Not quite sure what the bird is in the last shot. Some type of gull possibly but not sure which.
Tim was glad to be a dog today instead of a
reindeer.
Meant to post these earlier, but only just got back from an unexpected last minute job.
It was drizzly this morning and everything in the woods was dripping wet.
I was supposed to be taking people to the BBC Sports Personality of the Year in Sheffield today but the job got cancelled at the last minute.
So this afternoon saw me walking the dog the by the sea instead of being on the M1. And at least I got to see this fabulous sunset.
Strange to see the sun setting over the Somerset Hills on the other side of the Bristol Channel, rather than across the bay over Cardiff Airport as it does in the summer.
All these shots are virtually unedited, straight out of the camera - the top shot was taken with my old Zuiko 135mm lens, which with the 2x crop factor of Olympus digital cameras gives an effective focal length of 270mm.
No mist today, actually got to see some sun.
A year or so ago Daughter dyed her hair darker. Then she decided she wanted to go back to her natural colour - problem is, her hair is so long it would take ages to grow out. So she dyed it again. After several attempts she's now got back pretty much to her natural colour. The final touch was to have highlights put in her hair to make it more like it was before she dyed it in the first place. So by unnatural means she's got pretty close to her natural hair colour.
She'll be going to art college next year so it will probably end up being blue or purple or something. I guess she has to do her own thing but I hope she leaves it as it is.
