world's highest pub quiz

(viewed 474 times)
was here in an office above vauxhall bridge. we didn't do very well. in fact we also didn't bring our own booze meaning that we failed on the secondary (winning the quiz) and primary (getting drink) aims of these occasions. there were free egg sandwiches though...

habib is a small stuffed camel we bought with our last dinar. he was all we had to keep us happy having discovered that not only were the flight times shown on our tickets in UK not local time but that they didn't take account of the clocks going forwards either. all this meant we had about 6 hours to kill sitting on a stone floor with no local currency and nothing to buy but small stuffed camels if we had. we played habib's habib (like mallet's mallet but with habib). hide and seek habib and... oh i forget. it was a magical time made more magical by the violent bouts of vomitting and... worse that i'd contracted by going in the filthy med.

breathtaking architecture

(viewed 493 times)
another stunning example of the ubiquitous "scary abandoned building" school of local architecture.

derrelict wreck, or long abandoned building project? YOU decide.

shadowy gangs of men hang about by empty pools and leaf covered foyers trying to lure you into the murky innards with promises of safe passage back to the main road and demands of change for dinar.

fun for all the family!

vibrant nightlife

(viewed 472 times)
in the authentic local pizza parlour. you'll notice that we're the only customers. we were the only customers on each of the 4 or 5 times we went back here. it was the best place on the strip. there was also a club out the back. with pounding euro disco and scooters stuck to the walls and stuff. just no-one in it. no-one on the streets, no one behind the bar even. it was like the fricken twilight zone.

if you're thinking about going ot tunisia on holiday there's one thing you should know... don't.

this is me on the hotel balcony which overlooked a building site and a busy main road. the hotel smelled of petrol and eggs and was full of old people and fat red sex tourist women taking local beach-boys back to their rooms.

do you like my hat?
