We were in London for a show the weekend before last - went to see "High
Society". It's not as fabulous as the film (How could you replace Bing
Crosby, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong!) but it's a great
show. Jerry Hall is starring but was ill when we saw it. I've passed through
Baker Street underground station hundreds of times, but very rarely leave
the train here. I hadn't seen this bronze fellow before. I wonder who he
could be..., deerstalker, pipe, Baker Street..., Elementary my dear blogger.
Covent Garden for dinner at Navaho Joe's. V.Trendy, v.friendly, v.good
value. What more can I say?

I think I need the Holy Hand grenade of Antioch! (refer to Monty Python and
the Holy Grail for further info)....., or just go see Wallace & Grommet -
it's fab.

Net curtains are up! Finally people can't look into the flat as they walk
into the building!

When driving around here the most important road sign around is this one.
See this as you drive along a main road (even dual-carriageway) and the side
road you about to get to has priority over you. Usually there aren't any
painted road markings to help you either. I'm ok on the main roads as I look
out for them, but I'm not used to driving up to the junction at the end of a
side road and then not having to give way. Best bit is that if the car
that's supposed to stop isn't local, chances are he / she hasn't seen the
sign and won't stop anyway. It's a bit of a gamble!

Out for dinner on Friday at the Comptoir de L'Arc. Avenue Marceau, 100m from the Arc de Triomphe. Good food at reasonable prices in a lively Cafe-bar atmosphere. Good for the young and trendies (I'm not one of them), easy to find if you've never been to Paris and 2 mins walk from the Champs Elysees.
What more can you ask? Also, Metro trains with tyres. Smoooooth.
