I don't know if it was really a gate house but it's positioning and the fact
that there is an exact replica on the opposite side of the delta where the
boats have to pass through I think it may have been at one point.

Whilst in Turkey we took a trip on the Dalyan Delta and we fed the
Loggerhead Turtle Bluefin crab, The crab were caught, cooked and eaten on
the boats then the left overs thrown to the turtles, They were HUGE but so
graceful!
