I am the stone that the builder refused
I am the visual, the inspiration
that made lady sing the blues
I am the spark that makes your idea bright
the same spark that lights the dark
so that you can know your left from your right
I am the ballot in your box, the bullet in the gun
the inner glow that lets you know to call your brother ’son’
the story that just begun, the promise of what’s to come
and I’m-a remain a soldier until the war is won

Another shot over the Hudson. I dare not open the window, it was freezing out.

Took this my last morning in NYC, and in the New Yorker. The view was clear, and the Hudson looked so crisp. It was beautiful.

When we got back to Union Square we went back to the spice vendor that I bought the tea I have in my hotel room from. This time it wasn't raining, so I managed to get a couple of shots of the spice table.

This is a better shot of the skillet. It was so delicious, and awesome that it's served in one, cheese bubbling. They have some amazing varieties: if you ever go, I suggest the Alpine and the Cajun. The Pariesienne was really tasty too, but very very rich.
Anyway, we left and decided to walk over to Union Square through a really cool neighborhood full of punk and goth stores, streetside vendors (I bought some awesome gloves that made the tekraver in me happy, and a very fetching hat!) Tons of sushi restaurants, and even a tibetan store.

We went to S'mac, a restaurant that only sells mac and cheese in over 8 different varieties (not including the make-your-own) and had such a hard time deciding that we has the sampler platters, a smaller serving of each of their types.
This skillet is much better than you might think. It's no itty sampler platter, and Hannah and I walked out very very full of mac and cheese.

Of course the Megastore is closed at 230am, but it's still lit up and pretty.
At this stage, I put the cameraphone away and just headed back to the hotel. The diner I had planned to go to was still closed, so I snagged a snack (in the form of kebabs) from a street vendor in the Fashion District and walked back to the hotel.
When I got close to the hotel, I realized it was about a block from a White Castle. Of course I couldn't pass that up, so I went in, snagged a couple of those tasty tiny burgers, and the rest is history!
They're delicious.

I had walked across the square by this point, and I was facing the direction I needed to walk back to head home.

The other side of the Square. My love for bright lights paid off.
