I am the stone that the builder refused
I am the visual, the inspiration
that made lady sing the blues
I am the spark that makes your idea bright
the same spark that lights the dark
so that you can know your left from your right
I am the ballot in your box, the bullet in the gun
the inner glow that lets you know to call your brother ’son’
the story that just begun, the promise of what’s to come
and I’m-a remain a soldier until the war is won
I went for an improptu walk about town in the middle of the night...I started at Madison Square garden, which was right by the hotel.

After dinner we stopped by a place called Bleecker Street Records (on Bleecker Street, obviously) and I oogled all of the music.
This shot was taken downstairs where most of the vinyl was; right over the rock section was an entire section of new releases from Defected Records - one of my favorite house labels.
They even had a huge gray shop cat! He was so friendly! And huge!

We went to a delicious Sushi place for dinner tonight called Tomoe; probably some of the finest sushi I have ever eaten. They have a mousse-like Tuna tartar, and delicious octopus.
The tops though were their spicy scallop hand rolls and a tuna sashimi that you have to order by grade of fattiness. It literally melted across my palate.

The top floor of The Strand is the rare books section. I was parked in the science and medicine, philosophy, and religion corner. It was so fabulous.
I seriously found a copy of Issac Newton's Principia Mathematica. And that wasn't even the oldest or most impressively signed books we found, either. I could seriously move in there.

The place is literally floor to cieling with books. It's gorgeous.

To get out of the rain when we were finished at the Union Square holiday craft festival, we headed to The Strand. You may not be able to see, but there's a plastic bird in a nest on that crossbeam!

The other direction from my hotel window. Managed to open it a bit to let the rush of fresh air in.
It's really hard to explain how beautiful the city is at night - the lights are glittering all the way across the river, and the skyscrapers are lit up beautifully. The other buildings nearby have lights on and are alive at 2 in the morning. I can even see the clouds skimming over the city. It's absolutely stunning.
