Roses

My first experiment with my new close-up lens. The thunderstorm that came along 45 minutes after I took these knocked most of the petals off. Oh well, time to do some dead-heading.

Edit: replaced the duplicate image with the one I actually meant to put up.

My favourite kitchen

I love cooking outside. The finished product is rarely much to look at, but it usually tastes great.

Wee beastie

(viewed 2569 times)
I helped some friends move some hedgehogs out of their garden this evening. A mother and 4 young were living in a nest in some long grass, but with a cat and a 3-year old around they weren't going to be safe there for very long. We wanted to move them quickly to avoid scaring them too much so I didn't take many pictures, but I managed to snap this little chap when he popped out of the bottom of the nest. Mother and babies are now safely relocated to a local park.

Luminous green

All the foliage seemed to have a luminous quality as I rode home this evening.
