Woo first day out in tokyo and it's just like a manga. Wires everywhere and low buildings. Thundergods in the archway columns. And people always seem to wait at the zebra crossings even when there is no traffic.

Gold Leaf on the Lotus

I loved this little ritual offering. You could stick your own gold leaf onto the Buddha - it was like you were /allowed/ to make your mark on a giant public monument!
