This morning, while chatting away on Facebook and Twitter (simultaneously), I got a frantic call from a friend of mine--who is an undergraduate of the Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun state--that she was just a stone's throw from being robbed. Being the natural joker that she was, I took the (seemingly) irksome info with half a pinch of salt. But all that changed when I started hearing gunshots in the background. I froze in utter disbelief. The sounds were so clear; I felt like I was in the actual hotspot. Shouts and shots went on for a matter of minutes before I got disconnected.
Couple of hours later, news filters in that the robbers hit the school in two buses and a car, raided Oceanic Bank and a few other offices in the premises, operated for about an hour, killed an innocent soul and left some injured. Haven't heard from my friend yet.
