The Savvy Cynic

See what I can see through the lens of my Samsung E700 on the streets of York. Taking advantage of O2's "Happy Hour" so I'll be updating between 7-8pm GMT.

Currently I'm volunteering at the Cat's Protection, it's a delightful hobby the people are quirky and kind and the cats are all delightful (as long as they don't bite me). Expect lots of cats for the time being.

Fee and her sister Dee were cats abandoned after their owner died, being elderly themselves they enjoy a quiet life of laps, warm fires and good food. Fee is the shyer one, she will watch as Dee comes to greet you to see if you're a friend or foe but it won't take long for her to warm up and crawl all over you for affection.

Baby fits her name well, she's a big soft sweetie meowing for your attention and rubbing your legs until she can get it. She's definitely a big queenie since she has to be the top cat in the pens, the kittens in the next pen have gotten some harsh words from her but she's a dear with people.

This adorable little kitten is a bundle of fun and energy, he pounces and plays with anything he feels is a toy (that mouse you see, balls, hands, shoes...) but once tired out will cuddle up in your lap for a snooze and fussing. His favourite place is on your shoulder where he can watch the world go by and maybe play in your hair.

Let's Learn Some Korean!

What an idiot, I forgot to turn the image, but yes, this is a bit from my "Let's Learn Korean!" workbook. Thank god for it really, I don't know what I'd have done if I couldn't say "bull" "radish" or "hippopotamus".

This absolute beauty is Marcus, a lovable, huggable cat who has a wonderfully soft coat. He's probably the most fidgety cat ever though, he needs to be on your lap but can't quite find the most comfortable position. Congrats on Marcus on finding a new home :)

This friendly guy has been in the centre before. He's been brought back because after straying for a week he's become a "changed cat" and allegedly started attacking his owner's children. I think it's rubbish, he was purring like a motor and rubbing against me really wanting attention. Some people just don't deserve em!
