New Job

(viewed 1371 times)
This is our "office". My computer is the one nearest to you. Three of
us have lovely shiny Apple PowerBooks, though Lee is a non-conformist
and has a big Vaio running Linux.

Found: One Pigeon

(viewed 1387 times)
We found this fellow wandering around in our living room in Cambridge! A lost homing pigeon from Nottingham.

It seemed quite happy, but wasn't keen on flying away. So I phoned the number on its tag and spoke to the owner, who said put it in a box and he'd arrange for a courier to collect it!

Amusingly, the chap said that this was one of his best birds (hence the courier I guess). In that case, I'd hate to think where his less good ones have ended up!

(BTW, that's Tim 'extreme bathing' FitzHigham who's holding it. He was here cos we were putting together some videos for his Edinburgh show, which is opening on Wednesday)

Bath Rowing

(viewed 1803 times)
Some pictures I took of my mate Tim, rowing his bathtub up the Thames.

He challenged himself to row his bath from France to London for Comic Relief - and he'll be finishing today!

If anyone fancies a laugh then head for Tower Bridge at 8:00 this evening (Tuesday 2nd).

More information at and in the free 'Metro' paper.

991 miles!

(viewed 745 times)
1028 if you include getting to and from the train stations in Penzance and Wick. On the train to Newcastle now, and enjoying a crafty notquitechilled beer...

I only had 20 miles to go today and so, like Lance couldn't fail to win the Tour today, I couldn't really fail to finish. I could however forget to take a cameraphone pic of the proper sign, so this will have to do! I now have the significant challenge of how to get the bike home. The train is unbookable for days hence. The best option might be to put it in a suitcase. But, of course, all the shops are shut on Sunday...

It *is* the right Scotland!

Finally, I have proof! (though it's not conclusive as they didn't play Scotland the Brave)

Most likely I'll get there tomorrow lunchtime.

Found these by the side of the road. Wooden shafts with rubber flaps on the end. Not sure what I'd do with one, though I'm sure Mr Wilson would find a use! ;-)
