A touch too close methinks... I'll get some more like this that are in focus later on.

The meeting of the diggers..
First impressions: the k700i uses an improved version of the interface first seen on the t610, so I feel right at home straightaway. Some of the more annoying features of the t610's interface have gone away, and the 65k colour tft display shows of the new, shiny icons very nicely.
Physically the phone feels solid, yet light, and has a certain tactile pleasure in it's form. The buttons are large and clear, with a nice response to them: SE's buttons have been steadily improving since day one, and it's good to see they're finally getting it right. The joystick is a little strange to use, but I'm sure I'll get used to that - it's a slight design change from the t610, which was the last joystick phone I used.
All in all, it's a phone. It does some stuff, it has some things. It's nice to use and nice to look at, but then that's what I'd expect from a futurephone in the 21st century. What we're really interested in is the camera: well, that's coming next...
