kel's moblog (we love the city)

This is London, not Antartica, so why don't the tubes run all night,
You are my Girlfriend, not Molly Ringwald, so why won't you stay here tonight,
This is sixth form poetry not Keats or Yeats, and now we find the part that we both hate.
We love the city because it lets us down, We love the city NOT the suburbs that surround.
We love all the dirty things, that lead us to think, that maybe true love could be found.
We love the city because its how we live, We love the city cause it never loves us back.
We love it all because sometimes, even though they're hard to find, it contains all the virtues we lack.

This is our new arrival. She arrived with the name Leila, but this might change to Daisy... or Lola (although she's a bit shy for a Lola). Decisions!
Anyway, she's lovely if a bit of a scaredy cat.

and if I'm only going to select six for NZ, I have to do the same for Australia...
1) My favourite of the hundred or so photos of the Harbour Bridge
2)Kanga burger! It was possibly the tastiest burger ever, too.
3) Sliding down the natural rock slide at Josephine Falls in the Atherton Tablelands
4)The Blue Mountains
5)Wine tasting in the Hunter Valley
6)Kangas in non burger form

Too many photos to choose, so here's six.
1) Posing with our guide Alex's ice axe on the Franz Josef glacier
2) Moeraki Boulders
3)No explanation needed
4)A flower on the edge of the Huka Falls
5) My dad being my dad - attempting to build a boat out a pumice stone, some sticks and a feather.
6) Only in Queenstown.

Two of my friends got hitched yesterday in Rome.
It was a lovely weekend.
Best moment was us walking through the park afterwards for photos and a whole group of tourists spontaenously bursting into applause (when we had worried it was about to be a paparazzi esque rat run...)
(Nige will be taking photos of their blessing in London in a few weeks, but here are some of my shots!)
