This is London, not Antartica, so why don't the tubes run all night,
You are my Girlfriend, not Molly Ringwald, so why won't you stay here tonight,
This is sixth form poetry not Keats or Yeats, and now we find the part that we both hate.

We love the city because it lets us down, We love the city NOT the suburbs that surround.
We love all the dirty things, that lead us to think, that maybe true love could be found.
We love the city because its how we live, We love the city cause it never loves us back.
We love it all because sometimes, even though they're hard to find, it contains all the virtues we lack.

(Hefner "We Love The City")

Scenes from a party

(viewed 976 times)
This decorated vegetable was the sight that greeted me when I emerged from my bedroom on Sunday morning.
I think it's fennel.

Doug got extra points for bringing Special Brew to a homelessness/house cooling party.

I have been neglecting my moblog habit of late.

As some of you know, things have been more than a little crazy with me of late (jobs/house/other bizarre happenings) but now the following things have happened:

- I've moved to my new flat (still not unpacked)

- I've just completed the sale of my mum's house (finally!)

So hopefully things'll calm down a bit now and I can devote a bit of time to moblog again... just once I recover from the weekend's moving and partying... :)

A very civilised Sunday

A swim in the lido followed by a walk up parliament hill, and a white wine spritzer. Lovely.

(please dont rotate, cheers)

About a month ago my landlord decided that he didn't want to renew our lease for next year and we have to be out by the end of july. Two weeks ago I was told all of us fixed-term contract staff would have to interview for contract extensions and that they weren't sure how many jobs there would be. On friday they told us that we'd also be competing for jobs with people from another company that used to do a contract that we've just taken over. They've just made me do a 15 minute personality test which didn't exactly fill me with confidence. Oh, and my mum's house still isn't sold, and someone I know (not very well, but who is a lovely, great, creative and talented guy) has been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Life, could you just please sort yourself out for a bit? Please. I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

1)Went for a meal in Chinatown (with added belated birthday cake for Tasha) and met some lovely new people as well.

2) then hit the West End. Some of us literally more than others... Luke's not always *this* scary, but I think you can tell why I had the expression I do on my face. And I need a haircut. sigh.
