This is London, not Antartica, so why don't the tubes run all night,
You are my Girlfriend, not Molly Ringwald, so why won't you stay here tonight,
This is sixth form poetry not Keats or Yeats, and now we find the part that we both hate.
We love the city because it lets us down, We love the city NOT the suburbs that surround.
We love all the dirty things, that lead us to think, that maybe true love could be found.
We love the city because its how we live, We love the city cause it never loves us back.
We love it all because sometimes, even though they're hard to find, it contains all the virtues we lack.
(Hefner "We Love The City")

Went to some FREE ART last night as part of Time Out's First Thursday event - free entry and late opening of lots of East London galleries on the first Thursday of every month.
I've forgotten the name of this artist, but I'll look it up and put a link in a bit...
EDIT:
check out:
http://www.loremipsumgallery.com/ for more info.
It's by an artist called Viola Yestiltac.
I wasn't having a good morning today on the tube. I was running about forty-five minutes late to work, and thinking far too much about sad and frustrating things and getting embarrassed because I could tell other passengers could probably tell I was upset.
A couple opposite me got up to get off at Notting Hill Gate and as they did, the man handed me a slip of paper. I was a bit worried it would be some kind of religious sales pitch (which I really was not in the mood for) but inside was the message in the photo.
It had a bit of a mixed effect on me to be honest. On the one hand it made me happy that someone had broken through that London Tube social barrier to say something nice to a total stranger. On the other I wanted to explain part of what I was upset about, the thing that wasn't and won't be ok. Overall though, all the stuff that kicked this off, the stuff I can change - that will be ok. Eventually.
We had a fight but we're good friends now. He's called Rocky.

My cousin the athletics instructor and her best mate the angel.
I was the alphabet...
I deleted this and everyone's comments by mistake - sorry.
Nige -a jump will be on its way as soon as I work out how to use a self timer!
Geo - not enough accessories! Really need to get more pictures up.
Electric Sheep - yes that is flock. Left by the previous owners. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with it, thankfully it's only on one wall!
