Baubles Against Racism

(viewed 1064 times)
Was messing about tonight and didn't know baubles could be so symbolic or cute. I'm gearing up for my Project 365 starting this time next week. A photo a day, Can it be done?

No snow, only rain

(viewed 1524 times)
The forecasted snow didn't arrive in many parts, leaving a fair few Midlanders gutted. We got heavy rain instead, so not wanting to let this go unrecorded, here's a wet street soaked in sodium.

Christmas Light Switch On

(viewed 2281 times)
So because I live in the town centre, it wasn't too much trouble to walk on over to see the lights being switched on, though I didn't stay for the fireworks. I got home after a drive along with the Christmas playlist, just in time to see pop duo Journey South warm up the gathering crowd on the bridge, and they needed it after the torrential rain.

The actual lights aren't to rival any other place by any stretch of the imagination, I always love the ones in the winter trees.

After a large crowd counted down from 10 to 1, the lights came on in sequence to a very famous Christmas song indeed. The town and surrounding area has the fortune of being home to Glam Rockers, Slade, who are widely known throughout the land for that tacky classic "Merry Christmas" and thus the local crowd sang along.

Festive Bokeh

Ah, first post! I like taking photos I do! I'm planning on attending the christmas lights switch on in the town in which I currently live. Here's an example of the effect I'd like to capture, these are my fairy lights.

It's always about this time that the Christmas songs start appearing on my music playlist too, I love New Yorks romantic view of Christmas as seen in many a festive flick, so here are some lyrics from that get in the mood song All Alone On Christmas, by Darlene Love, you can guess which film:

The cold wind is blowin' and the streets are getting dark, I'm writing you a letter and I don't know where to start, The bells will be ringing Saint John the Divine, I get a little lonely every year around this time. The music plays all night in Little Italy, The lights will be going up on old Rockefella's tree, People window shopping on Fifth Avenue, All I want for Christmas is you.
