Leven's hockey teams played Hornsea at Leven on Thursday 1st July. Both teams have been working hard in training all year and finally got the chance to show their new-found talent on home soil!
James H captained the Y5/6 team to victory against Hornsea's Y6s. Great team work and passing between James W and Findlay C up front meant that James F benefitted from a sneaky finish at the back post, before both James and Findlay grabbed a goal each to make the score 3-0 at the end of the 1st third. In the 2nd third Hornsea scored twice but another goal each for James W and Findlay C left the final score at 5-2. Well done to Maryisa K, Leo S, Chris G and Lauren S too for their hard work throughout the game.
On the other pitch Joseph W captained the Y3/4 team to a 4-0 win over Hornsea's Y4/5 team. After a slow start which left a 0-0 score line at the end of the 1st third, Jack D sprung into action in the 2nd third to grab 2 goals, before Joseph W also grabbed 2 in the final third. Well done to Lewis T, Lydia A, Emilia C, Jack J and Kuba L too for playing really well in Leven's first ever Y3/4 Hockey match.
Thank you also to all the parents for their support during the evening too.
Leven's Y5/6 hockey team are now looking forward to their chance to defend the trophy which they won last year when they travel to Bridlington Sports Club to take part in a tournament there in the middle of July.
Mr Saltonstall.

Today Year 6 took part in the REaction day at Beverley Minster and had a great time! There were several other Year 6 school groups from across the area, so hopefully they made some new friends for September. The theme for this years REaction day was Hopes and Dreams. The children took part in 6 workshops covering this theme. They had a quiz, some time to reflect on their hopes and dreams, a music session, a dance lesson, some time to contribute to the 'Send My Friend To School' campaign and even a tour of the Minster's attic! All of the children co-operated well with the other schools and joined in the fun. At the end of the day all of the children came together for the big finale. As you can see we made some noise I apologise for the dodgy dance moves from the boys And NO Jamie and Nic aren't having a fight in the Minster - they are dancing along to Cheryl Cole!
