Foxes had great fun getting dressed up as their favourite adventure story characters to help them get in the mood to create their own adventure stories.

On Tuesday 8th June, Mrs Williamson and I took a group of 12 Year 4 children to take part in the athletics Hot Shot programme at the David Lloyd Centre in Hull. The children took part in several events, including 30m sprint, standing long jump, chest push, javelin and relay. All of the children competed with a fantastic team spirit and had a fabulous time! Most of the events involved the children trying for their own personal best, however they did take part in a relay race competing against the other 5 schools which were there. Taylor was picked out for particular effort in 2 events, the touch base and javelin throw. It was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with the children as they were so well behaved and enthusiastic. The event itself was extremely well organised and we hope to take part again next year. Not all of the results are known yet, so keep your eyes peeled for next Tuesdays edition of the Hull Daily Mail where the results and more photos will be published.

Today the brass group came into play for KS2. We hope that it will inspire some of our children to take up a brass instrument.

Over the past few weeks Year 2 have been thinking about feelings and how we
can show are feelings through colour, music and sculpture. We designed
masks showing different facial expressions and today we made them! We
thought about what materials we could use to make the facial features. Even
our student, Miss Sotherby, had a go!

While all of you were tucked up in your beds on Saturday night, 7 of our
staff took to the streets of Sewerby to complete the Midnight Walk in aid of
the Sue Ryder Care charity.
We were blessed with a lovely evening and bacon butties at the finish. It
took us 2 hours to complete the 6 mile walk, and we even managed a sprint
finish - hence the rosy cheeks in the photo.
Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored us for this very worthy cause.
Sue Ryder Care care for people with illnesses, such as cancer, brain injury
and many more serious diseases. If you haven't sponsored us and would like
to then it's not too late. Just drop your donation into the office.

These are two events in June. Please support us, a lot of time and effort goes into making these events special and all the money raised is spent on the children of Leven School.
