On Monday 1st March Alan Lavender MBE came to work with our children. Alan was a Chef at Chequers for 24 years and cooked for four Prime Ministers.

In the morning Alan demonstrated how to make quick pizzas, a healthy tomato sauce and pasta.

In the afternoon he demonstrated how to make various healthier puddings. The children and their parents then had a go at making the puddings and eating them.

Our thanks go to Alan Lavender and Debbie Wilson fo rhelping to organise and run such a fantastic day. Also to all of the parents who came in to share the day.

The recipes are all here, so have a go.

This week the children have been learning all about the Jewish Festival of Chag Purim. Amongst other activities, the children have been learning the traditional story which tells of why the Jewish people celebrate this festival, made Graggers to scare away the villain of the story, Haman, and tasted hamantaschen, a filled pastry.

We really hope that the children have found out lots about this important Jewish festival and that they are looking forward to the themed days which we have planned for the future.
