As part of our Ancient Greece topic Year 3/4 were finding out what it felt like to be Greek fighters. We became sailors on a huge Trireme (a Greek warship). We marked out the outline of our 40 metre by 5 metre ship and became oarsmen battling the Persian Navy in the Aegean Sea.

It was great to join the orchestra for their second rehearsal tonight. We did a lot of work on rhythms and played Au Clair De Lune in four parts.

Year 2 celebrate Rosh Hashanah

Year 2 walked to the canal to perform the Jewish ceremony of Tashlich -
getting rid of all the silly things we have done during the year before. We
threw breadcrumbs into the canal to symbolise these silly things - the ducks
and swans had a great time! We then read prayers which the children had

We had our first orchestra rehearsal today. We had to learn where to sit, how to follow the conductor and how to play together.
