Temple god

(viewed 478 times)
Not sure which deity this is. It's on the front roof of a new temple being built
for Ganesh.

Back in the little house #2

(viewed 430 times)
Now with the roof back on, we feel really back!

It's like having an extra room - the living room! - again. It's too hot without
a roof.

New roof

(viewed 472 times)
We had the roofers in on Saturday, the terrace roof having collapsed in the last
rains - a week before we came back. The owner did not have time to have it fixed
before we arrived, which added to the fun of being back.

The team at work and the official photo.
The supplies arrived by bullock cart, but they all had a mobile phone.

Back in the little house by the mountain

(viewed 425 times)
We've moved back in last Monday. It's lovely to be back here, though it does
take some getting used to it again - after travelling in polite countries! But
good fun. It's not been so hot yet, lots of clouds and unusually, some rain.
Everything is green, as a result. Very nice.

Singing cruise by the Howra Bridge

(viewed 810 times)
It was hilarious. Live music and singers, and some of the public wanting their
share of the stage....!

Holi hands

(viewed 1641 times)
The dyes are mixed with a little water, and applied on people's cheeks. For
speed and action, kids use water pistols... :-)

Happy Holi!

(viewed 2802 times)
In my Holi "make up', and the pace quickening towards the end of the celebration on our street, Kolkata.

We have just returned from a journey through Burma, via Dehli, Kolkata, Bangkok, and a bit of beach time in Ko Chang, to arrive by chance in Kolkata a day before
Holi.
I've not been able to post pictures all this time, as internet cafes are not so common or well equipped in Burma and Thailand as they are in India.
In Burma, it's really hard to get online to start with. I'm going to settle down for a few weeks in South India, and catch up with all of it and with sorting my impressive collection of photos...!
