Akankwasah: Uganda- Wildlife Poaching

A snared antelope deep in the Bwindi Impenetarble National Park discovered
by a patrol team of the park rangers.Our dear wildlife will be no more if Community members continue over and
illegal exploitation. Poaching is a big problem affecting protected areas
and Community education and involvement in management must be increased so
that the people start to value the wildlife.

Akankwasah: Uganda

Uganda is home to half the remaining world population of the endagered
mountain Gorillas, gorilla gorilla berengei. Its habit, the Bwindi
Impenetrable National Park is designated a world heritage site under the
World Heritage Convention.
Other Countries like US should emulate Uganda in ratifying and
operationalising global policy instruments as a commitment to save the
global environment.

Akankwasah: Uganda

Students of Makerere University Institute of Environment on a practical
field study in Lake Victoria waters aroung the Lutembe bay wetland. Lutembe
is one of the recently listed Ramsar wetland of international importance in
Uganda.
This wetland treats the drainage waters before the water enters lake
Victoria, the bigest fresh water lake in Africa and second largest in the
world.
