Pulled* the Infra-red filter out of an old Fuji Q1 the other day. Added a visible light filter made of some exposed film.
Here is infra-red imaging. In order: dog, some carved stone (the deep blue/black background on the right of the frame is the sky - clear blue to eyes) and a conifer tree. Plants, generally, reflect infrared so appear white. The clear sky is a massive heatsink, so appears black.
During the reassembly of the camera, I somehow managed to make it extreme-macro only. Will rebuild at some point to try to correct this.
* "smashed", sadly.
Actually forged brass plated in chrome, with teak scales. Frackin' lovely thing, really well made (should be for $150!).
A present to myself for not having smoked anything since september last year. It's terrifyingly sharp. Shaves fantastically, but requires a lot of respect - I have blooded myself on more than one occasion.
OH SHIT IT WAS SO AWESOME

Best shave to date. Some bleeding.
