W has a near-miss.

My sister got some new catnip toys recently; they're dolls of
politicos like George Bush and the Clintons. Her cats go berserk on
the stuff, and the dolls go flying in their frenzy. W wound up wedged
into a chair leg, and the look screened onto his face made me laugh.

Curve

It was bizarrely warm out the other day, so a friend and I went for a
walk at a nearby park. There's a highway juncture that runs over the
middle of the walking trail, which is where I took these shots. I like
how gentle and almost elegant the concrete overpasses angle around.

No hunting for the handicapped

OK, I know I got a good shot this time, although I have no idea where we are. I love rest stops.

At the rest stop in Worcester, NY

The phone and I are snowblind at the moment, so I'm just hoping these aren't as dark as I fear they are.

I liked how painterly the field and hill across the highway looked, and the NO HUNTING sign next to the restroom made me laugh.

a blue and gold sunset

Taken from what used to be a railroad track. It's a pretty clever
idea; the trains hadn't run through there in years, so the town paved
them over, put a few benches along the path and opened it up to the
public -- who've long clamored to be able to walk/jog/bike/rollerskate
on a two-mile path that runs along the edges of poor people's back
yards and the parking lots of carpet outlets and Jiffy Lubes.

Little Man has a Black Eye

Not really, of course; it's just that his eye boogers have been really
dark and goopy lately. He held still long enough for me to get most of
it off and then we took a photo on the light-blue throw rug, his
favorite.
