A trip to the springs: Epilogue

(viewed 297 times)
This one was taken about an hour after lunch at Hallo -- lately, my sweat has been leaving this chalky white residue behind as it dries. It seems to always collect at the edge of the sweaty areas, like a borderline. Weird. (A week or so later I happened to look at some of the dirty-hippy organic meals I've been having pretty regularly and nearly shit to see each one has 600 to 900 mgs of sodium. Eek.)

Soup with a wrought-iron Beethoven

(viewed 307 times)
A bowl of Soljanka Goulash at Hallo Berlin. It tasted a lot better than it looks, though nothing was better than the three or four glasses of ice water downed with it.

The Penny Rock

(viewed 328 times)
I love this thing -- I don't know if it's particular to this kind of rock or its position to the sun or that it has handy little ridges to jam a penny in or if pennies just melt and flop over easy or what, but this thing always amuses me. Not as many pennies in the thing as there used to be, however.

Looking down the hill

A matching set, more or less, to the earlier, looking-up shots. Symmetry is where it's at in the 00s.

The Blair Witch Chevrolet

(viewed 290 times)
OK, this was a little unnerving -- happening across an abandoned car in the middle of nowhere, miles and miles and miles from the nearest road and way up on a ridge. I can't imagine how it got here, especially considering the small path we were on wasn't cut through this area until recently. Looks like it was whatever the four-door version of the Malibu was called, now it has a small tree growing out of the driver-side floor and roof. At this point, it was clearly time to start heading back down to check out the penny rock and get the fuck out of Pennsylvania.

The Blair Witch Gas Can

Rusted all the the way through, just sitting on the side of a sorta-path in the deep forest. Also, a tree that's sure to fall soon and a frog pond.
