We've made a new friend/dependent in the last few
weeks; Noogies, the unflaggingly affectionate stray
male cat with enormous testicles. I think I understand
why our cats were freaking out near the side door and
peeing on it the week or so before the flood; Noogie
does the same thing. Charmed, I'm sure. Judging by his
paws, he's going to grow into one huge cat; anyone
interested in adopting him once he's de-nutted?

bowls of chicken & pasta soup and cotton-candy ice cream [July 12]

(viewed 372 times)
The soup was lunch at The Spot, and the ice cream
[which even smelled like cotton candy] was enjoyed at
a Chinese Buffet.

Other people's messes, and a straightening cane

(viewed 389 times)
Clearing out the bulk of the crap left in the shop's
yard on the 11th, and laughing at what being
underwater for almost two weeks does to an unvarnished
cane on the 13th.

the house chicken tortilla soup at the California Grill

Taken on the 10th. It's been far too long since I had
a Hawaiian-style hamburger. The soup was good, too.

Thank you, but no more clothes accepted at the high
school FEMA/Red Cross triage.

Today's haul was a
much smaller, neater pile of stinking garbage.

yes, even more nerd pain [July seventh]

I think this was the last big day for heavy lifting in
the basement. Lots and lots and lots of slimy lumber
and insulation, also signed prints by the late Jack
Kirby and Will Eisner and first-print Beatles posters
that were completely fused together. Yay.
