The Hamburg Kunsthalle (http://www.hamburger-kunsthalle.de/) is the best painting collection and museum I have seen since now. Its best feature is lighting: paintings are perfectly visible almost always, without noisy shadows that are commonly present in museums (sometimes these shadow are ridiculously preminent over the art pieces...) and the light is mainly natural. Wonderful. Wunderbar.
